Belly Casts/Henna

(Left: Example of an unfinished, unpainted belly cast just minutes after the casting process is complete)

A pregnancy belly cast is a plaster cast made of your beautiful pregnant belly. It is a special way to capture your changing body during pregnancy, and can be a memorable experience for couples to share. All the needed supplies are brought to your home to help you create a lasting memory. The whole process takes just a little over an hour. Most couples display their belly cast in their bedroom or bathroom or decorate it to match their child’s nursery. The finished cast is lightweight and can be hung with a small nail. The cast can be decorated with acrylic paints, decoupage or any material that can be glued to the surface. The cast is made using strips of plaster gauze material that has been dipped in warm water and then placed on the front of the mother’s body. Several layers are needed to make a strong cast. A thin layer of petroleum jelly is applied to the skin before the plaster cast material so that the cast will remove easily when dry.

HENNA

Henna is another wonderful way to celebrate the growth within your belly.  Henna traditionally is applied to the body during religious holidays, feasts, or important life events (a wedding, for example).  Allow your belly to be beautiful!
